A cowboy rode into town on friday.

He stayed one night at a hotel.

Then he left on friday morning.

How did the cowboy arrive on friday, stay one night, yet still leave on friday morning? :?

I know a couple of hotels whose receptionists never know which day is. Probably the cowboy checked in and out at one of these :?

Larss and 1BB know the proper answer.

Good answer Miss Hybrid :o , but not right.

Good answer Riccardo, but not right.

There could also be a silly answer to the puzzle. :P

 The horses name was Friday. He rode into town on a horse called Friday. This was actually on Thursday. The following morning he then rode out again on Friday morning on his horse called Friday.

Sort of like having a mole called spot. It can get confusing. I like your other naming conventions better. A dog called Dog, cat called Cat, various ducks called duck. :)

Good explanation.

1BB, larss and lookynooky are correct.

The cowboy could have been a space cowboy and had a time travelling wristwatch too.

I know a better answer: The cowboy rode into the town on friday on a horse named Spot.
Then he spent one night in a hotel.
Then he spent 6 other nights elsewhere (the sexy barmaid you know... ;) )
And finally on friday morning (one week later) he left the town on his horse named Spot (or was it Dog?)
