A Swiss woman was stuck at a Nazi checkpoint. There was a very long bridge at the border of Germany and Switzerland, but it took six minutes to cross. Observing the guard at the guardhouse, she found that he came out every three minutes to check that no one was trying to leave or enter. How did she manage to escape?

Before we start:
No, she did not offer sexual favours.
There were no apples or moles involved.
She did not kill the guard.

Does it take Six minutes to cross even running as fast as she can?

OK, I admit I cheated and googled this so I won't share the answer, but personally I don't think it's that good.

Through some sort of time and space bending, it takes 6 minutes to cross no matter how fast or slow she goes.

Did she lock him in when he was inside?

Did she cross halfway, hang off the edge of the bridge when the soldier came out, then climb back up and finish crossing?

You're on the right track, but no. There is no way to hide when on the Bridge.

Did she only have to cross halfway, because after that the bridge became part of Swiss territory?

Was the whole bridge in Swiss territory and she only had to walk by when the soldier was in the guard house?

I was going to say that sort of thing next. It would be possible if he didn't stay out of the guardhouse for long.

What if she had forged papers, so she could escape even if she was spotted and checked.

Was there a Swiss guard house on the other side so she only had to cross halfway before they would make sure she crossed safely?

She had no papers at all <- This is important.

She crossed halfway and turned around and started walking back toward the German side. When the guard found out she had no papers he sent her "back" to Switzerland.

Took me long enough. The hint about the papers gave it away.
